What are Porcelain Veneers? (Also called Porcelain Laminates or Facings)
Porcelain veneers can change an entire smile. Porcelain veneers are quick, painless and offer dramatic results. They can change the shape, color, size, and arrangement of teeth resulting in a beautiful, natural looking smile. In some cases they can even be used as an alternative for orthodontic treatment. Porcelain laminates are the most popular technique used for dramatic smile makeovers.

What is the Process for Making Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain laminates can be placed in two visits.
An impression is then taken and is sent to a dental laboratory. In the lab, a ceramist will make very thin porcelain facings changing the shape, size, color and teeth arrangement that are needed to have a great looking smile. At the second visit, the laminates are bonded (attached) onto the surface of the teeth. For about a week or two, you will go through a period of adjustment as you get used to your "new" teeth that have been changed in size and shape Porcelain laminates are the most popular technique used for dramatic smile makeovers.
Traditional laminates: Depending on the the position, shape or color or your teeth the technique for making traditional laminates consists of removing a layer of the face of the tooth about the thickness of an eggshell.
LUMINEER laminates: Where they can be used LUMINEER laminates require either little or NO tooth structure removed. Therefore there is no pain, need for shots or need to wear temporary restorations while the laminates are being made.
